PERSONAL AND STRAIGHTFORWARD

How your appointment works

Arrange a time

Tell us the document, number of people and preferred time window. Please visit only with an agreed appointment.

Take and check the photo

We help with posture, expression and glasses. You see suitable photos on an iPad and choose a photo that meets the requirements.

Receive the right format

For E-Passfoto, the photo is made available through the prescribed secure procedure. You receive a retrieval code for the authority. Prints or a download file are supplied according to your separate order.

A photo file sent by a customer cannot be converted afterwards into an E-Passfoto. The €19 download file does not replace secure E-Passfoto delivery for German identity documents.

TIME AND PATIENCE

Babies, children and individual needs

Please tell us your baby or toddler’s exact age. These appointments are available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings by arrangement. Weekday mornings are often reserved for editing and office work. We allow extra time for these appointments.

Based on feedback from local authorities, open eyes and a closed mouth are often requested even for babies. We take this into account. Age-related exceptions may apply; the authority decides whether to accept a photo. Within your application deadline, we recommend a later appointment when appropriate and a calm, reliably awake period.

The German passport photo format is 35 × 45 mm (width × height). E-Passfoto is supplied digitally through the prescribed procedure.

Visa photos and foreign documents

Foreign passports, visas, embassies and consulates may require different dimensions, backgrounds, face sizes, prints or file specifications. Please tell us the country and exact document and send the current official requirements before your appointment, for example as a link, screenshot or information sheet.

Tell us whether you need prints, a digital file or both. The German E-Passfoto procedure is different from supplying a file for a foreign application. The applicable authority’s requirements determine the format.
